In a quietly unsettling Los Angeles, increasingly hostile toward immigrants, taciturn taxi driver MERDAN (20s), who hasn't been able to process his mother's death after he left home, meets LElLA (5Os), who asks him to take her to the forest to dig a hole and bury her, for her son was shot at the border mistaken for a bear.
He agrees to help and comes to see the unique connect they have with each other. Yet when the hole is dug, they fall into it and get stuck, meanwhile unbeknownst to them, A BEAR is approaching.
